The Adamawa State University currently has the Faculty of Agriculture as its
pioneer faculties. The Faculty under the able assistance of its Dean, Prof.
G.I.C Nwaka has various courses to offer. The Faculty has 2 departments
which include:
1. Department
of Animal Production and Aquaculture (B.Agric, Animal Production)
2. Department of Crop Production (B.Agric, Crop Production)
Currently, under
the crop production department we have 24 students while in the Animal Production
department we have 6 students for 2002/2003 session. Taking into account what
the faculty has in place for students, the faculty is characterized as standard
and competitive, therefore making it favourable for learning.
In particular,
activities and research goals of the Faculty of Agriculture and related programmes
shall be exploited to move agriculture forward, reduce rural poverty, ensure
food security, and provide industrial raw materials. The overall goal is towards
industrial production, thereby creating employment opportunities in a technology
driven sector for alleviation of poverty.
